NES Fircroft is partnered with a world leader in mining who is seeking an experienced Mine Geologist for a permanent full-time opportunity based on site in the Bown Basin.

This position is permanent full time, 5/2 Roster. With the offer of an excellent remuneration package including performance-based bonuses. Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates.

About the Role
  • Offer onsite geological guidance, assistance, and mentorship to the Open-cut mining operations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the pit, evaluating, monitoring, and reporting on coal clean-up standards and other factors affecting product quality or recovery.
  • Interpret geological models to aid in comprehending evolving pit conditions.
  • Perform high-wall mapping and structural analysis for timely integration into Short Term and LOM Model updates.
  • Aid in the creation and dissemination of Short Term and LOM Models.
  • Carry out coal quality and tonnage reconciliations.
  • Provide backup and support to Engineering Geologists as needed.

About You
  • Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
  • Exhibit prior experience in an Open Cut Coal Mining Operation.
  • Possess proficiency in Vulcan software and familiarity with tools like acQuire, Arcmap, Task Manager, and Geology Core.
  • Possess a valid C class Driver's license.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Coal Mining Safety and Health Legislation.
  • Showcase strong motivation, work ethic, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and proactive initiative for effective collaboration with mine planning and production teams.
