Nuclear power is used across the world to generate electricity, but do you know how it is produced or which countries have nuclear power plants?

While renewable energy is becoming increasingly popular, nuclear power still plays an important role. Nuclear power stations provide more than a tenth of the world’s electricity and 13 countries rely on it to supply at least a quarter of their total electricity supply.

EDF, the world’s leading nuclear power utility, operates 58 nuclear reactors in France alone as well as exporting its expertise worldwide, including over to the UK. Have you heard of Hinkley Point C? It will be the UK’s first nuclear power plant for more than two decades and is expected to be generating electricity from 2025.
