Hosted by Scott Radford, Director for Global Mobility at NES Advantage Solutions, our second instalment of the Nordic chapter in association with the Forum for Expat Management was held at the Dansk Industri building in Copenhagen on the 18th January 2019. Attendees included HR managers and in-house mobility professionals from global organisations across Europe.
These events aim to deliver real insights into the true meaning of what it takes to successfully embed an expatriate and their family into an unfamiliar land.
This event considered why a staggering 75% of expatriates turn down an international assignment on the basis of prospective family integration problems. It was agreed by all participants that this is an integral barrier that industries far and wide must overcome;
We considered how through offering appropriate candidate support we can enable the confidence that rather than being a "career killer" for the accompanying spouse, an international move could in fact be the next exciting chapter in a family's life and an invaluable and rewarding experience for all concerned. Benefits such as advancing the family's professions and education were highlighted as reasons candidates should consider a move.
It’s vital to consider the expat's family at all stages - right from attraction, through placement and all the way to repatriation - ensuring a good experience for all involved and ultimately resulting in a successful placement.
NES provide a range of mobility support services for our clients, whether they need to mobilise one contractor to a new location or manage the relocation of an entire team of permanent employees, we have a dedicated mobility team with over 50 years of experience which can provide support.
For the next instalment of our Global Mobility Chapter, meet us in Stockholm! Date and venue to be announced soon.
