NES will share their recent ‘Women in Energy Global Study’, at the event which highlights workplace challenges faced by female energy and engineering workers in 2018. NES and research partner, Energy Jobline, collected and analyzed the views from 1,200 female professionals who are working in the Energy sector.

“Despite the criticism the energy industry often receives, the study shows the status quo is finally being challenged and women are feeling positive about the future. We hope this study becomes a useful tool for professionals to implement better support and opportunities for women in the industry, ensuring further progress is made” said Vicki Codd, Global Marketing Director, NES.

Readers can expect to find enlightening statistics on gender diversity topics, such as “Pink vs Blue Jobs,” flexible working, mentoring and inclusiveness in the workplace.

Key statistics from the report include:

  • ‘Engineering’ was the most common job type for women in energy and only one-fifth claimed to specialize in the commonly named ‘Pink Jobs’ such as Administration.
  • 63 percent of women in energy are the primary wage earners in their household.
  • ‘More flexible working’ and ‘better communication’ were cited as a top priority when respondents were asked what their current company could do to be more inclusive to women.
