Upstream Case Studies
Gulf of Mexico Oil and Gas Operator - Owners Representative Team
NES partnered with a major oil and gas operator in the Gulf of Mexico to assist building an owners representative team that would oversee their EPC/Construction companies to deliver a flagship Tension Leg Platform (Olympus).
The development is the first deepwater project in the US Gulf of Mexico to expand an existing offshore oil and gas field, extending their greater basin to 2050.
NES illustrated the strength of our talent pool to source and provide manpower that was located in South Korea, Houston and Ingleside, Texas.
We were proud to partner with our client to deliver the resources to assist for the team for construction on both Rig and Hull for the Olympus Platform.
With work being completed in three locations and many other global locations for equipment and services, we helped build and mobilise a workforce for the client to deliver the project without any unnecessary delays or compliance issues in each country.
Some of the key positions included: Construction / Engineering Lead, Project Engineer, QA/QC Lead / Inspectors, Structural / Mechanical Engineers, Project Controls Engineers, Planners / Schedulers.
Fully Intgegrated RPO Solution
Our client, an oilfield services provider, wanted to consolidate resourcing activity under a single operational solution. The key objectives were to improve the experience for hiring managers and candidates and reduce time-to-hire through sourcing innovation and talent pooling. The client also wanted to improve response times and offer broader access to the global talent pool by improving sourcing and attraction approaches under the client’s brand. We were tasked with building a robust resourcing solution to service these requirements.
We implemented a comprehensive multi-country RPO solution, delivering services across the five main regions of Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Russia Caspian. Onsite recruitment services were delivered in 16 countries with offsite centralised sourcing and administration services being delivered to over 60 countries in total. We operated from five main hubs with support from two global client service centres in the Philippines and Poland.
After implementing the solution three years ago, we now make over 4,000 placements per year on behalf of our client. Our direct hire RPO solution has reduced our client’s time-to-hire by 50% to 24 days. We have also significantly reduced the cost-per-hire by reducing the reliance on external suppliers from over 50% to less than 5%. Our scope of services has grown every year and now also includes graduate and senior management hiring.
Oilfied Services Provider - Bulk Hiring in Abu Dhabi
Our client, a major oilfield services provider won a large scope of production work in Abu Dhabi requiring urgent mobilisation of over 80 contractors. They needed to mobilise these contractors within 6 weeks of engagement to ensure timely completion of the project.
NES Global Talent engaged our dedicated team of specialist recruiters based in Abu Dhabi to focus on the project. We were quickly able to identify, qualify and interview suitable candidates before referring successful applicants to the client for final sign off. Once signed off, the candidates were referred to NES’s UAE assignment support team who mobilised them to the UAE as soon as possible.
After implementing the solution, we were able to fill over 65 positions within 4 weeks, and the remainder within 6. Contractors were mobilised to country by NES and as a result the client was able to complete the project to strict deadlines.
North Sea Offshore Project - Assessment Open Days
Our client had a significant staffing requirement for the pre-construction, construction, and hook-up phases for a high-profile North Sea offshore project.
NES mobilised a team of experienced recruiters to work alongside our client's HR and training divisions, and used our international database of experienced oil and gas professionals to identify a pool of suitable candidates. Invitation-only assessment days were then organised across various locations in the UK to test and interview suitable candidates.
Multiple placements were made, allowing our client to build the best offshore team for the project. Full compliance procedures and mobilisations of the successful candidates were also managed by NES.
