Our Case Studies

  • Our Client's Challenge: A speciality chemical company in the UK, was struggling to find a suitable candidate for their site-based Technical Engineering Manager role. Previously relying on agencies to fill their more junior level roles, their usual contacts had failed to evidence significant industry insight in order to obtain a candidate at such an experienced level.

Our Solution: NES assigned one of our expert discipline-specific consultants to visit the client in person and liaise with the talent acquisition team in order to develop an in-depth brief detailing the nature of the role, desired technical skills and required personality fit. The necessary stringent role requirements enabled our consultant to shorten in excess of 50 CVs to just four. Our targeted strategy delivered four highly qualified candidates to the client, of which two reached second interview stage. Deploying dedicated NES executive search methods ensured that a successful placement was made within the agreed timeframe of three months.

  • Our Client's Challenge: A major polymer production company required a global partner to deliver a number of key hires across their central projects group in Europe. They needed a partner with chemical industry expertise, a global candidate network and the ability to deliver a number of high level technical positions at the same time.

Our Solution: After a number of consultation meetings across various European offices, we agreed a complete RPO solution for the projects group. We spent 4 weeks meeting all the relevant decision makers and created a qualified talent pool of over 500 profiles. The dedicated NES team then provided a candidate shortlist with an 85% success rate, providing ongoing support through interviews, offer management and on boarding. As part of the RPO service, we provided a detailed monthly report for the senior management team.

  • Our Client's Challenge: Our client was at a critical design phase of their first commercial lithium processing plant. Their internal permanent recruitment strategy had been unsuccessful, so they planned to engage and mobilise a team of technical engineers on a 6 month interim contract.

Our Solution: Having worked in the chemical projects and engineering space for over 20 years, our temporary recruitment team were able to leverage their relationships with a niche talent pool, quickly mobilising a team of highly skilled, chartered engineers to cover Process, Mechanical, Electrical and Automation disciplines to work across 2 project locations. The whole exercise was completed in under 48 hours and was crucial to the successful progression of the project.

  • Our Client's Challenge: Our client is a speciality chemicals company with leading positions in lithium, bromine and catalysts refining. They required over 20 hires for contractor transition and recruitment services for various locations across America. Due to the volume hire, they wanted to reduce costs and consolidate their staffing providers to one company that could service the Americas region and provide support globally when required.

Our Solution: With 9 offices across the Americas region, and another 45+ globally, NES offered both the regional and global capability that could service all of our client’s business units. We offered a one stop solution for contract and direct staff placements with comprehensive support including onboarding, payroll, and compliance services in each geographic location, demonstrating our strong commitment to compliance and safety. Our team presented discipline-specific recruitment models to address hiring vital engineering vacancies and offered multi-tier pricing options for talent pools broken down by classifications: engineering, professional services, production support and administration. NES is now a preferred supplier to our client and is given first preference to fulfil all their roles. The US agreement has since been leveraged across other NES businesses, including operations in Perth, Europe and Latin America.
