Job Description - Under general supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Also required to lead one or two junior level associates in the same tasks. Specific tasks require performing calculations per ASCE 7 for “Seismic Design Requirements for Nonstructural Components”. Candidate will review existing installations that are not in accordance with code requirements and, with minimal guidance, provide an upgraded design with calculations to bring installation up to code. Task has a direct correlation with construction costs and company profitability.
Qualifications - undergraduate degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with minimum 5 years of design experience using ASCE 7, ANSI/AISC 360 or ACI 318 required. Seismic and anchorage in concrete (ACI App D) design experience a plus but not required. Familiarity with HILTI PROFIS Anchor or Installation software, MathCad, STAAD and Microsoft Excel are not required but are beneficial.
