Job Description

Analyst / Back office Oil Derivatives
Location: Warsaw


You will be the second back office employee in our Warsaw office. Your reporting line will be into the Zug office. You are responsible for preparing and analyzing daily clearing broker statements, including the monitoring of positions. You will gain an understanding of the types of transactions and strategies used by the trading desk to understand the risks within the trade book and ensure that deals and their profit and exposures are accurately represented. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the derivatives positions are reported timely and accurate. This position provides key analytical and trading support to the global organization. This position is a primary link between the various trading locations.


To capture and control Future and Swap deals.
a) Collecting Clearing bank statements, reconciling the data and checking the data as it is electronically uploaded into our systems.
b) Updating the database with new products, trading books and periods. Updating Broker info such as new brokers, accounts, product commission etc. Update daily prices for all products and periods, Brokers settlements and reconcile broker accounts with our systems.

c) Capture Derivatives Position of all offices and control the data between our systems and Middle Office Position Report. Variances, differences and mistakes need to be communicated to all trading desks globally.

d) Preparing and checking of Monthly voice broker invoicing for our global offices, Report on Initial Margin and Variation Margin requirements for all our trading desks.

Liaise with Risk Analysts and Traders globally to ensure consistency of derivatives positions across trading books. Ensure activities are carried out in compliance with external regulation and Financial Reporting requirements, mandates and policies.


The nature of the work requires an individual with strong analytical skills, acute attention to detail, an inquisitive mind. The incumbent must be highly self-motivated and have strong communication skills and an outgoing and confident personality allowing them to interact with (and challenge) effectively on a daily basis.

Strong Excel skills are important and back office knowledge would be a distinct advantage. Familiarity with trading systems is advantageous, but specific skills can be taught on the job. A significant amount of the workload is time sensitive therefore strong organizational and time management skills are important.


- Relevant Energy industry experience preferred, with background in derivatives trading or physical crude/products/gas/power
- Ability to multi-task with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to perform under rigid deadlines
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- Self motivated individual who functions well in a team environment
