Job Description

NES Global Talent is currently looking for 2 x Site Managers for work in Glasgow & Edinburgh, for a minimum of 3-4 months (potentially longer). Our client, who specialize within the T&D sector, are involved in multiple substation projects across the central belt and looking for individuals to start in the next couple of weeks.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Carry out site inductions, tool box talks, safety tours, accident reporting and review of method statements etc.
  • Prepare and review tender documents including technical specifications, contractor’s scope of work, costs and programmes according client’s standards and specifications.
  • Act as the main site point of contact for your discipline area. Organise and supervise contractors, plan and chair site meetings, complete site quality, safety and environmental inspections. Deal with and resolve disputes whether they are technical, financial or other.
  • Manage and deliver site works to meet commercial conditions of contract including minimising delays and claims for variations.
  • Provide technical support, advice and instruction (related to your discipline area) to various contractors and others on-site.
  • Establish Health & Safety as a priority throughout the duration of the project. Comply with all relevant legislation with a particular focus on CDM
  • Carry out site inductions, tool box talks, safety tours, accident reporting and review of method statements etc.
Experience required:
  • Significant experience in managing transmission projects, particularly within a substation environment
  • Excellent HSE understanding of all relevant legislation
  • Contractual management
  • Excellent leadership skills,
  • SMSTS
  • WI1 & EN1 authorisation (essential), WL1 (advantageous)
  • Experience of working with DNO desirable
  • Hold a Full, current Driving License
