Job Description

Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer

Contract for project execution phase (phase 4-5)

Location: Bayport

Scope:


    • The objective of the position is to ensure compliance with established Company and Project specific Instrumentation & Control Systems procedures and engineering design standards during Execution Phase 4 & 5 of the Project and the timely completion of the activities.

    • The Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer main focus shall be on the instrumentation, analyzers and field installations. Secondary focus is on Control Systems. SPI experience is a must.

    • The scope of the position covers all reviews and support of Instrument & Controls Systems design activities associated with the Contractor’s activities for the Project.



Main Responsibilities:


    • Reporting to the Engineering Manager and responsible for undertaking Instrumentation & Control Systems design reviews in accordance with appropriate technical standards and specifications associated with the services provided by the Contractor.

    • Works closely together with the other PMT (Project Management Team) members and supports other disciplines as requested during project.

    • Take responsibility for the Contractor’s deliverables as per the Contract and ensure these are issued according schedule with sufficient quality and fully signed off by both the Contractor and Company. Ensures that the company (HSE) designs requirements and local and national safety standards are strictly adhered to.

    • Ensure that the relevant Local and International regulations are followed by the Contractor and Vendors.

    • Attend factory inspections and expediting, where applicable, and ensure equipment is in full compliance with the specifications.

    • Develop and maintain good and beneficial relationships with, Contractors, Partners, Vendors, Company local organization and other Company businesses and third parties such as engineering institutions, certification bodies etc..

    • Instrument & Control Systems design review activities are in support of the Project and development initiatives and include support to other disciplines during the Execution Phase.

    • Stimulates challenges and supports the Contractor to strive for easy/simple solutions and to avoid unnecessary changes. Takes part in the Constructability reviews.

    • Follows the development of the execution schedule ensuring both the timings and sequencing are correct.

    • Where budget bid enquires are prepared, check technically both the issuance and bid analysis that they are of the correct quality.

    • Support and implement the use of Common Engineering Specifications. Where required raise the appropriate deviation requests, keeping a register with the status of such.

    • Ensure that the relevant Local and International regulations are followed by the Contractor and Vendors.

    • Ensure that effective use of the Company Lessons Learned system.



Qualifications:


    • Masters degree in Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent)

    • Minimum 10 years of working experience

    • Previous knowledge of Instrumentation & Control Systems installations

    • Comprehensive Onshore Construction and investment project Experience

    • Experience of polymerization plants is important
