Communications Lead  - 19 Months Contract – London EC3A

ESSENTIAL:-  Seasoned communications professional with a track record of delivering integrated communications strategies in infrastructure, transport or public service industries.  To plan and deliver communications activity which raises the profile and enhances public opinion on a large Highways project

Communication Lead Responsibilities


    • Research and plan communications activity to support project milestones

    • Proactively identify opportunities to tell the large Highways Project story to public and stakeholders. Carefully navigate the political and regulatory environment, tell compelling stories about the project and those it will affect

    • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the project team to contribute to an overarching communications strategy and deliver activity which supports it

    • Own a specific communications channel delivering coordinated, integrated and effective communications activity and content

    • Act as communications advisor to the wider project team ensuring consistent external messaging

    • To deliver parent company project governance requirements as required. To look for ways to encourage innovative thinking around how to improve legacy benefits

    • To hold health, safety and welfare (HSW) as a key project value and to participate in the creation, development and implementation of HSW strategies by the project leadership team



Communication Lead Previous experience:


    • Seasoned communications professional with a track record of delivering integrated communications strategies in infrastructure, transport or public service industries.

    • Experience of working in a high pressure, politicised communications environment

    • Experience of managing supplier relationships to develop communications materials

    • Examples of exercising sound judgement, leading and facilitating decision making on complex issues among multiple parties

    • Educated to degree standard with a relevant second degree and membership of an appropriate professional body or equivalent work history

    • Demonstrable experience of working in a major infrastructure project in a similar industry &/or to working in a matrix and dispersed team



Communication Lead Skills


    • Excellent writing, proofing and editing skills

    • Ability to identify and shape compelling stories

    • Perfect eye for detail

    • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders

    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
