Job Description

Lead Engineer Mechanical

The Lead Engineer Mechanical is responsible for and has to coordinate all mechanical equipment (fabricated equipment, rotating equipment and units) activities in the projects.

Core Responsibilities:

Prepare input to the project progress report as required

Support the Project Team with regard to Machinery and Equipment issues

Support, coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines regarding cross discipline matters

Core Tasks:

Knowledge on PUWER. Assist with the implementation of recommendations from Safety Systems.

Knowledge on CE marking and risk assessments and preparation of technical files for this purpose.

Collation of all the CE documentation and manuals.

Knowledge of Atex and preparation of technical files for Atex

Preparation of Atex maintenance / inspection plans.

Preparation of machinery maintenance / inspection plans.

Trouble shooting with equipment problems.

Assistance with pre-commissioning checks.

Assistance with commissioning.

Identification and monitoring of snags.

Getting the various bespoke slide valves working as required.

Assistance with filing and document control.

Checks that information has been entered SAP.

Assistance with populating the equipment list / asset register as part of the handover package to production.

Support the construction team in case of deviations of design or quality of execution.

Assist with preparing the plant for a successful start-up.

Implementation of Mechanical Equipment activities into the overall time schedule

Ensure applicable codes & standards are considered

Control of engineering cost Mechanical Equipment (when applicable requiring alternative technical solutions from suppliers)

Monitor Machinery and Equipment engineering, fabrication, and delivery, to ensure compliance with schedule. Identify expediting needs, as necessary

Ensure the Quality Management Plan is executed
