POSITION TITLE:  Sedimentologist – Unconventional Reservoirs – Resident Expat

LOCATION: Middle East

Our client, one of the largest fully integrated oil & gas companies, has facilities and operations all around the globe. They growing their multidisciplinary teams in their Unconventional Program and looking to hire a top Clastic Sedimentologist. This position will be a long-term resident expat based position located in the Middle East region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Sedimentologist – Unconventional Reservoirs – Resident Expat

  • Develop and promote sedimentological best practices across the unconventional resource team
  • Development of basin and reservoir exploration models and 3-D static geological models
  • Conduct detailed sedimentological investigations, draw conclusions, and make recommendations to support asset evaluations
  • Establish detail sequence stratigraphic and depositional environment models for unconventional reservoirs in clastic systems
  • Integration of all available data to provide analysis of well data in terms of sedimentary architecture, facies, and depositional environment
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Sedimentologist – Unconventional Reservoirs – Resident Expat

  • BS in Geology; MS/PhD preferred
  • 10+ years of oil & gas experience primarily with unconventional reservoirs
  • Strong experience with geological software; Petrel, Openwork’s/DSS
  • Experience with geo-steering and working in Real Time Operations Centers
  • Experience with the integration of sedimentology, depositional environments, petrophysics, and geomechanics
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
