POSITION TITLE

Petroleum Engineering Systems Consultant – Unconventional Resources – Resident Expat

LOCATION: Middle East

Our client, one of the largest fully integrated oil & gas companies, has facilities and operations all around the globe. They growing their multidisciplinary teams in their Unconventional Program and looking to hire a Petroleum Engineering Systems Consultant. This position will be a long-term resident expat based position located in the Middle East region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Petroleum Engineering Systems Consultant – Unconventional Resources – Resident Expat

  • Provide technical support and advice on PE data quality control checks, verification, and archival
  • Lead and initiate high level data management projects, analyze complex data management issues, and implement corrective permanent solutions
  • Perform in-depth development of data governance practices and implementations as well as lead and direct Unconventional Resources data management initiatives and projects
  • Identify problems with existing unconventional resources data management environment and formulates solutions, alternatives, and recommendations to resolve them
  • Constantly looking at ways to improve or change procedures for data management as well as ensuring and implementing data management policies, methodologies, and procedures
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Petroleum Engineering Systems Consultant – Unconventional Resources – Resident Expat

  • BS in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, or Computer Science; MS/PhD preferred
  • 15+ years of oil & gas experience primarily with unconventional reservoirs
  • Strong experience data management with strong understanding of business rules, workflows, model designs, data governance concepts, and data management concepts
  • Demonstrates high level of knowledge in upstream domains data and creates and uses cross-discipline workflows to implement best practice approaches
  • Expertise in systems and applications development processes
  • Ability to lead projects and teams on data management activities
  • Excellent computer skills with wide experience in well database applications and systems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
