Project Engineer – Controls and Automation – Derbyshire/Leicestershire - £55,000 - £60,000

A leading UK Manufacturer who are going through growth and investment, are currently seeking a Project Engineer with a strong background in Controls and Automation. Reporting to the group Engineering Director, you will provide specialist expertise and knowledge to drive projects and improvements to reduce downtime and increase throughput across the company by applying advanced techniques in areas such as automation, PLC, SCADA and HMI.

Responsibilities of the Project Engineer

  • Designing, developing and implementing of advanced SCADA systems for factories around the group and UK to streamline fault finding and improving machine availability
  • Produce design specifications for third party system integrators
  • Manage small and medium sized projects which are control based
  • Join cross function teams for larger projects of PLC and SCADA areas
  • Commissioning support
  • Working knowledge of robots in automation
Essential

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechatronics, Robotic, Software/Engineering
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Siemens S7, HMI’s and ProfiNet
  • Good working knowledge of Robots
  • IOSH or NEBOSH
  • Front line controls experience
  • Experience working in automotive or related industries
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various sites across the UK
  • Beat practice project management techniques
  • Full UK driving license
  • Background in software development on industrial control systems
