Job Description

Candidate of this class plan the day-to-day and long-term operations and supervise the staff involved in the operations of Stimulation/Cementing laboratories. The work involves ensuring that proper API/ISO procedures and methods are used in conducting the operation of the laboratory, testing equipment and specialized programs. They are involved in the administration of KFUPM laboratory contracts. Considerable judgement, initiative and supervisory ability is required in laboratory operations. Supervision is exercised over subordinate professional and technical staff.

 


    1. Focal point of cementing and Stimulation lab activity.

    1. Strong organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload.

    1. Schedule analyses in accordance with API/ISO specs.

    1. Monitor ongoing tests in progress and ensure that quality control protocols are being followed.

    1. Authorize the discarding of samples as per the waste category and methods.

    1. Operate and maintain lab instruments, equipment, and supplies.

    1. Ensure that all supplies and equipment meet specifications for quality.

    1. Order spares and equipment as required.

    1. Train, schedule, discipline and write performance appraisals on staff.

    1. Provide information and interpret scientific data for other technical employees and the public.

    1. Set and enforce safety policies and procedures.

    1. Performs other related duties such as maintaining and updating a data base on equipment catalogs, manuals, data books, protocols of experiments.

    1. Ensuring observance by subordinates of fire and safety regulations and the practice of good housekeeping, salvaging tools and materials where possible.

    1. Performing all lab functions in accordance with the industry standards of quality and standard operating procedures.

    1. Prepare samples for testing and run sample analysis.

    1. Maintain, promote and continuously improve the safety within the lab, as well as the general housekeeping.

    1. Highly skilled in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    1. Ability to write legible, routine correspondence and to speak effectively as well as coherently with management and other employees.

    1. PC Literate in MS Office including word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications

    1. Develop their own career plans and other lab direct reports

    1. Establish and implement knowledge-transfer mechanism operation support lab and field engineering/operation/sales team.

    1. Ability to publish technical papers in local/regional SPE events with client professionals

    1. Build a strong network with local suppliers and KFUPM/DTVC

    1. Apply and reinforce all HSE policies at the workplace

    1. Creative ability to solve problems that arise without compromising data quality

    1. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple duties/projects simultaneously

    1. Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined

    1. Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette



 





EXPERIENCE




Required: A minimum of five to seven years professional experience involving scientific analysis and API/ISO testing in an oilfield laboratory of which at least one (3) year shall be at the supervisory level. Must be familiar with performing analytical for water, Acids and HPHT testing for Stimulation and Cementing related specifications and testing under down hole well conditions.

 





    • Preferred: Must have actual hands-on work experience with other service providers and have people management experience for three years.

    • Good knowledge of HPHT equipment and their functions, maintenance and operations

    • Good experience of working in a team and people management

    • Good knowledge of budget and finance

    • Good knowledge of HSE and service quality

    • Good knowledge of project management

• Ability to Set-up of new equipment, methods and procedures both in laboratory and field

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for chemicals and laboratory equipment

• Comprehensive and elementary presentation of complicated scientific principles

• Peoples management experience and In-house trainer experience

• Sound knowledge of Quality Management principles

• Advanced user of ERP software for stock management, invoicing and business      management

• Independent user of Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point
