Communications Analyst – 18 Month Contract – London EC3A

ESSENTIAL:-  To Assist with the delivery of  communications activity which raises the profile and enhances public opinion of a large highways project.   Experienced communications professional with a track record of supporting the delivery of integrated communications strategies in infrastructure, Engineering, transport or public service industries. Excellent writing, proofing and editing skills

Communication Analyst Responsibilities


    • Research & plan communications activity to support project milestones

    • Play a key role in implementing the communications strategy & tell the project's story to public & stakeholders

    • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the project team on the implementation of the project's communications strategy

    • Help to manage a specific communications channel delivering coordinated, integrated & effective communications activity & content

    • To produce engaging communications materials including digital & print collateral

    • Protect & enhance the reputation of Highways England

    • Provide communications advice to the wider project team ensuring consistent external messaging

    • To deliver parent company project governance requirements as required

    • To look for ways to encourage innovative thinking around how to improve legacy benefits

    • To hold health, safety & welfare (HSW) as a key project value & to participate in the creation, development & implementation of HSW strategies by the project leadership team



Communication Analyst Previous experience:

•          Experienced communications professional with a track record of supporting the delivery of integrated communications strategies in infrastructure, transport or public service industries. Experience of working in a high pressure, politicised communications environment.  Experience of working with suppliers to develop communications materials

•          Educated to degree standard with a relevant second degree & membership of an appropriate professional body or equivalent work history

•          Demonstrable experience of working in a major infrastructure project in a similar industry &/or to working in a matrix & dispersed team

Communication Analyst Skills


    • Excellent writing, proofing & editing skills

    • Ability to identify & shape compelling stories

    • Perfect eye for detail .  An ability to place yourself in the audiences’ shoes & think about how a story is likely to land.

    • Ability to work with internal & external stakeholders

    • Exceptional interpersonal skills & personal resilience to working under stress/different styles of leadership/getting things done.  Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint & Excel
