Job Description

NES Global Talent is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client, is currently seeking a Surplus Materials Coordinator in Cold Lake, AB. The qualified candidate would preferably be local or have accommodations in the Cold Lake area as no LOA will be given.  

Job function:

    • Assist in the identification, cataloging, management, transfer and disposal of surplus materials

    • Identify opportunities to consume surplus materials and destock inventory (utilize stock on hand)

    • Request material master data adds, changes and improvements

    • Identify SAP data issues

    • Coordinate logistics requirements to ensure proper process/storage for non stock items after WO have been completed

    • Act as a sole Interface with planners, the business unit and warehousing contractor and procurement

    • Liaison with OEM and vendors to develop best practices, procedures and standards with respect to materials availability

    • Provide input on a risk-based equipment spares stock that optimizes reliability versus cost   

    • Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with supporting departments, promote continuous improvement

    • Lead in root cause analysis for failed supply chain processes

    • Manage parts being returned to stock, assist in returning parts to vendor for credit, and core management within the mining industry

    • Manage the repair and return process

    • Identify opportunities for material master creation to reduce free texting for recurring material orders

    • Assist in the management of equipment spare parts lists

    • Provide supply chain input into Plant Equipment maintenance strategies, PM and predictive maintenance program development as requested

Required KNOWLEDGE, qualifications, skills, and experiences:

    • 15+ years of closely related professional industry experience

    • Strong knowledge of materials and equipment relating to oilfield operations

    • Extensive knowledge of how and where materials are used in the plant/field

    • Strong knowledge of Plant Maintenance and/or Materials Management module of SAP

    • Fluent computer skills (ability to work in Microsoft Excel)

    • Strong knowledge in warehousing protocols

    • Thorough working knowledge of Maintenance and Reliability practices

    • Continuous improvement skills and commitment to best practices

    • Excellent interpersonal skills; communication (written and oral) and influencing

    • Ability to build good, respectful working relationships

    • Proven coaching and mentoring techniques and skills and an ability & desire to train others

    • Advanced time management and organization skills
