MATERIAL TECHNOLOGY AND INSPECTION GROUP EXPERT – Central Europe – Global Chemical Company

A leading innovative global chemical company are looking to expand their technical leadership team to support with their significant growth strategy. Due to this multi-billion value project portfolio they require a Material Technology and Inspection Group Expert to lead these significant projects, whereby the person will be assigned for several years to one of the mega growth projects.
As a key member of the PMC the role will support and challenge the deliverables of the EPC contractor and report into the Project Director.
The Material Technology and Inspection Group Expert will be an expert in international standards & specifications and material technology used in the petrochemical industry to ensure that company project procedures, specifications and engineering design standards are correctly implemented in projects.
The Material Technology and Inspection Group Expert will act as the Technical Expert across locations in projects and operations sites to ensure company specifications are followed and full legal compliance and asset integrity is fully covered. This role will be accountable for participating in authority meetings for negotiating discipline issues. The role will include developing strategies for engineering specs based on new developments within the market and in line with international standards and local legislation. The technical expert in this role will review and approve bid evaluations, support selection of vendors and develop CAPEX road map items with Procurements category team as part of TCO and SAC.
The Material Technology and Inspection Group Expert will have proven leadership experience to support and develop discipline engineers and lead project reviews. The person in this role will have strong stakeholder management skills. They will be a conceptual and analytical thinker and have values driven approach to driving results.
Relevant extensive experience within the petrochemical sector at a senior level within capital project execution is required to fulfil this role. It is also a requirement that the person for this role has the willingness to be mobilised to different countries and willing to travel globally.
