Job Description

NES Global is currently recruiting for a Control of Work Specialist for a minimum of 12 months. The client, a global operator, will have you initially working onshore, where you will primarily be engaged in implementing the Upstream CoW process and the associated switch from ISSOW to eCoW.  You will do this through auditing, coaching, mentoring and training of all personnel involved in drilling & interventions operations, as well as maintaining a consistent application of the Upstream Control of Work procedure across all platforms.

Acting as single point of contact for all queries relating to the Upstream Control of Work Process from Wells operations, you will be responsible for:
  • Conduct offshore audits of the Upstream Control of Work process to ensure compliance.
  • Interface with the Central CoW team
  • Coach and assess Drilling Contractors’ and Service Providers’ Performing Authorities including hands on training with the Control of Work system
  • Interface with the 3rd party contractors onshore in preparing their Performing Authorities prior to deployment and enforcing use of the Performing Authority Readiness Checklist
  • Conduct formal Competency Assessments of Area Authorities and Performing Authorities as required by the Upstream Control of Work procedure
  • Provide coaching and support to Area Authorities where required
  • Maintain North Sea Wells Control of Work Authorisation Register
  • Ensure regular updating of Risk Assessed Procedures working in cooperation with Wells Ops technical specialists
  • Provide support to or participate in Control of Work related incident investigations.
  • Provide Control of Work input into the regional SORC meetings
  • Provide day-today Control of Work support to the North Sea Wells operations.
  • Develop eCoW Permits, Task Risk Assessments (TRA), Isolation - De-isolation Plans (IDP) and Risk Assessed Procedures (RAP) for upload to eCoW
