Job Description

Position Summary:
The Refinery Projects Team Operations Specialist position will work as part of the Operations Team providing operations input & support into Major and Area Projects design. The position will provide training and start-up coaching during project execution.  
Essential Functions / Key Accountabilities
  • HSSE and Compliance:
    • On time compliance with all HSSE training requirements
    • Participate in HSSE meetings
    • Work conducted in accordance with site HSSE policies
  • Project and Technical Support:
    • Provide general refinery operations input into project scope development in the areas of hazard/risk identification and mitigation, practical methods for implementing changes to process systems, and potential human performance impacts on refinery  operations personnel.
    • P&ID Comments & identification of field tie-point locations
    • HAZOP OSBL Design
    • 3D Model OSBL Reviews
    • Development of Project Operations Readiness
  • PROCESS UNITS & OSBL - ID & OBTAINING DOCUMENTS FOR UPDATE - Project Operations PDM & LCD & Training Development
    • Project Operations Procedures & Checklist & Rounds & Commissioning; Prestart up; Startup Procedures Development
  • Develop Material & get approval - Project Operations PDM & LCD & Training Development
    • Project Operations Procedures & Checklist & Rounds & Commissioning; Prestart up; Startup Procedures Development.
    • MOC & PSSR Reviews and related Action Closures
    • Coordinate Permit To Work and Lift Plan assistance as necessary
    • Take direction and follow- up with work activity status
  • Training & Development:
    • PREP FOR TRAINING - Finalize Procedures & Training & Commissioning for Execution
    • CONDUCT TRAINING - Project Operations PDM & Procedures Training
      • OMD & Utilities & Refinery "OSBL" & BPFD, Shift Manager, & Salary Operations Training as necessary experience
    • Refinery Oil Movements, Naphtha, and Gasoline Blending Systems experience
    • 10+ years of petrochemical Oil Movements operations experience
Required Skills / Competencies
  • Understanding Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s)
  • Translating process industry technical aspects into appropriate written documentation
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • Fundamentals of Microsoft Office software including Visio
    • Certifications / Licenses List any required and preferred certifications/licenses
  • General office duties (computer work, interacting with other personnel, etc.) and field observations (climb stairs/ladders, etc.)
  • Most work will be in office environment, but PPE will be required occasionally.
