Job Description

NES Global Talent is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client,  has an opportunity for an Project Manager - Infrastructure. The role will initially be based in Calgary and would require to move to site during the construction phase


    • Accountable for overall project delivery; project development and design including the scope, cost estimates, planning and scheduling, cost control, project execution plan, regulatory approvals and procurement;

    • Oversee and provide day to day direction to project team including engineering, project controls, supply chain, document control;

    • Manage engineering contractor(s) to ensure successful development of deliverables including estimate, engineering, construction packages and overall project technical requirements;

    • Coordinate and work with internal and external resources to develop an execution plan for the project;

    • Manage Contractors to maximize performance and control costs;

    • Ensure project satisfies all safety, technical, operational, commercial, maintenance and quality requirements defined in our specifications, standards and practices, regulatory codes and within the approved budget and schedule;

    • Monthly project reporting and presentations on progress, budget, deliverables and key issues;

    • Lead project risk management and change management programs;

    • Develop execution plans and strategies for future phases;

    • Ensure project HSSE goals are met or exceeded; and

    • Provide project management support to other projects as required


    • Bachelor of Engineering Degree

    • Professional Engineer status preferred

    • Minimum 15 years’ experience implementing projects;

    • Experience in supervising Project professionals;

    • Experience leading multidiscipline teams including Engineering firms and Contractors;

    • Experience in gated project delivery models and procedures;

    • Must have excellent communication skills, be capable of identifying issues and opportunities and providing recommendations for path forward;

    • Experience managing and forecasting costs in a complex environment;

    • Strong leadership experience with the ability to coordinate functional teams, suppliers and engineering contractors;

    • Ability to travel to site as required.
