Job Description


This engineer will be providing general electrical engineering deliverables related to producing AFC electrical drawings and performing short circuit, load flow, protective relay coordination studies and arc-flash studies using ETAP.

Part of an electrical design team design in developing electrical power generation, distribution, protection and related control systems for projects.

•Preparation and review of construction drawings depicting equipment locations, wiring, tray layouts, supports, cable schedules, and lighting

•Preparation and review of layouts and plans for electrical buildings and facilities

•Preparation and review of power/control philosophies and drawings.

•Preparation and review of electrical generation, distribution, rotating equipment, communication and control equipment drawings, specifications and datasheets

•Preparing, analyzing and reviewing electrical models



•Graduated with a BSEE as a minimum from an ABET Accredited university (Technology degrees are limited to design positions). 

•5-10 years of experience in electrical power engineering

•Experience using design software (e.g. ETAP/SKM) to solve complex issues and conduct power system studies

•Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

•Familiarity with a variety of the discipline's concepts, practices, and procedures.

•Ability to perform a variety of tasks with minimal day to day supervision.

•Technical assurance review is required for only the more complicated, unique, or critical work products.

•Has begun to demonstrate some breadth in applying skills to different project phases and / or acquiring experience in other related disciplines.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

•PE or ability to obtain a PE
