Location - Cork, Ireland
The basic requirement is a degree in Civil/Structural engineering and registered as a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland and/or Institution of Structural Engineers. Higher qualifications are an advantage.
8 - 15 years post graduate work experience in structural design including structural steel, concrete and masonry (familiarity with timber design would be an advantage) on large scale industrial and pharmaceutical projects in Ireland and/or Europe. Work experience should range from conceptual studies and planning through to detail design, construction and site support.
Experience in general civil engineering and underground services design and delivery would be an advantage.
Roles and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the design, production and technical management of the structural (and Civil) engineering design process on a diverse range of projects mainly for private sector clients. You will also be responsible for leading structural (and Civil) design teams and co-ordinating with other disciplines, sub-consultants and clients towards the successful delivery of projects.
A clear logical approach to problem solving and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team with demonstrable commercial awareness are pre-requisites for the post.
The successful candidate will report to the Civil/Structural/Architectural Department Manager on a departmental level and to the Lead Civil/Structural Engineers/Project Managers of the particular projects they will be working on.
