NES Global Talent is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client, is currently seeking a Planning & Scheduling Lead in Sarnia, ON. The qualified candidate would preferably be local or have accommodations in the Sarnia, ON area as no LOA will be given.

Position Title:

Planning and Scheduling Lead II

Requirements / Expectations of role:

    • Overall responsibility for the planning, estimating, scheduling and execution control of assigned units as part of the overall 2020 turnaround
    • Receives functional guidance from the Turnaround Manager and administrative guidance from the Planning Manager
    • Maintain compliance to turnaround global and functional milestones to ultimately create the plans and schedule to meet turnaround key performance indicators as detailed in the Turnaround Basis Memorandum

        • Responsible for the quality and completeness of planning milestones

        • Identifies/Resolves planning and scheduling barriers that effect the on time and with quality completion of key milestones

        • Interaction with other departments to ensure their functional milestones are being met

    • Leads bi-weekly cross functional meetings to review status of key turnaround deliverables. Identifies and resolves any barriers to completion
    • Responsible to ensure support planners are producing quality output in compliance with planning standards

        • Works with execution lead to oversee support planners in the development of execution job packs based on the approved turnaround worklist

        • Oversees support planners in the development of increasingly refined cost estimates

    • Overall responsibility for development of turnaround cost estimate
    • Supports development of bid packages
    • Interfaces with lead scheduler to develop optimized schedule and resource histograms
    • Coordinates readiness, constructability and schedule optimization (SMED) meetings. Lead role to ensure site is well positioned for successful review
    • During turnaround execution, works closely with Execution Lead and Scheduler to maintain quality and accuracy of schedule (added work, logic ties) with the end goal of providing accurate shift schedules to the field
    • Daily critical path assessment with scheduler
    • Daily added work review with added work planner
    • Support development of weekly stewardship
    • Support turnaround execution schedule review

Required Experience

    • Demonstrated experience with incorporating safety into job plans
    • Experience in turnaround planning, estimating and job pack creation
    • Knowledge of turnaround scheduling practices
    • Computer skills are required for this position, such as Excel, word, power point, Outlook.  In addition, the turnaround group has a planning tool that the individual will be trained on
    • Knowledge of Primavera P6 would be an asset
    • Self-motivated
    • Ability to produce quality work with little guidance
    • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills in a team environment
