Position description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the a leading oil and gas company in Saudi Arabia.


Supply Planning Organization is responsible for managing the fuel retail may include but not limited to (building fuel stations, managing fuel and non-fuel businesses, managing logistics and supply chain, and other related business pertaining to the fuel retail activities)


The Mechanical Engineer primary role is to develop the technical standards for the fuel stations and manage the construction of such projects, in addition, he will develop new improved business strategies and conduct market analysis. As well as contribute to the development of the company’s retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) plan, organizational structure, manning levels, etc.


Minimum requirements

As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized and approved program with a focus in Retail Gas Station Business.


You will have ten years’ experience in retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) development. With at least three years’ experience at management level.


As a subject matter expert;


You will have excellent technical reports writing and presentation skills.


Basic knowledge on PC-based applications is also necessary.

Have a basic knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, Gas Station Standards and Specifications is a requirement.

You will be knowledgeable in retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) development and possess relevant industry expertise and will have solid experience in specific venturing activities such as commercialisation, spin-offs or joint venturing.

You will have excellent command of retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) development skills including the analysis and development of retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) cases and plans, origination, and implementation.

You will be capable of seeing the retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) big picture.





Duties and responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:


Create and manage contracts with consultants and contractors

Supervise design and construction of petrol stations

Develop maintenance service level agreements

Implement and supervise HSSE policies related to construction and maintenance of petrol stations Create standards for the design, construction and maintenance of petrol stations

Develop and manage (in cooperation with Public Relations) the visual identity of Saudi Aramco petrol stations

Evaluate and optimize cost estimates, project budgets and schedules.

Manage retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) development process from screening through deal closure.

Drive screening and validation activities to progress proposals through stage gates.

Lead efforts to formulate a resource and funding plans to transform retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) proposal from concept to a closed deal.

Lead retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) planning and economic modeling.

Determine the scope and objectives of the deal, offering messages and "technical" solution that make up Saudi Aramco's retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) offering.

Provide administrative direction and personnel management to all assigned Retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) Development Analysts.

Support the development and rollout of the different related programs.

Stay abreast of best-in-class practices in the retail business (Fuel/Non-Fuel) and recommend improvements.

Prepare and deliver business presentations as needed.

Provide training to staff in different areas.

Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.

Manage retail engineering, technical design, and construction supervision (includes design review, bench mark with international standards, technical review and material selection and specifications).
