Job Description

Aker Solutions based in Aberdeen, is responsible for delivering quality service, safely, on time, within budget whilst ensuring the technical integrity of onshore and offshore assets. We actively promote the highest standards of HSEQ and at all times act within the Aker Solutions Just Care procedures. The engineering department, consisting of experienced, multi-discipline engineering personnel within a new project due to commence in Q1 2019 is seeking to strengthen the team through the recruitment of experienced Structural Engineers at all grades.

  • To assist the Lead or Principal engineer in meeting project requirements and performing all technical duties in a highly competent and efficient manner
  • To be aware of and adhere to the Aker Solutions values, systems and processes including PEM and AKIiMs
  • To carry out professional engineering, procurement, construction, installation and completion activities in a competent and efficient manner whilst ensuring that the technical and safety integrity of engineering being performed is maintained at all times
  • Liaise with client project and facilities engineering in the execution of the modifications project scopes of work
  • Act in the capacity as Task Lead Engineer when assigned to do so within a project or contract
  • Accountable for the effective administration and implementation of Management of Change
  • Preparation of CTR's and man-hour estimates via the Aker Integrated Management System (AKIMS) where applicable
  • Basic knowledge of design software such as PDMS, Navisworks and Autocad
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant structural design codes including AISC and API RP 2A
  • Responsibility for the performance of others within their discipline / function. II Provide engineering and technical direction for drawing office person
  • Educated to HNC/HND level in engineering discipline
  • Educated to degree level in engineering discipline
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
  • Conversant with appropriate technical software
  • Aware of latest technical developments
  • Current Offshore Survival and Medical Certificate preffered
  • Ability to direct and guide engineers and designers
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Good team working skills
