Job Description

Aker Solutions based in Aberdeen, is responsible for delivering quality service, safely, on time, within budget whilst ensuring the technical integrity of onshore and offshore assets. We actively promote the highest standards of HSEQ and at all times act within the Aker Solutions Just Care procedures. The engineering department, consisting of experienced, multi-discipline engineering personnel within a new project due to commence in Q1 2019 is seeking to strengthen the team through the recruitment of experienced Structural Designers at all grades.

  • To assist the Lead or Principal engineer along with the Lead and Principal Designers in meeting project requirements and performing all technical duties in a highly competent and efficient manner
  • To be aware of and adhere to the Aker Solutions values, systems and processes including PEM and AKIiMS
  • Execute technical duties in a competent and professional manner and in accordance with company procedure
  • Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues
  • Familiar with the aspects of Structural Analysis
  • Familiar with the aspects of Pipe Supports > 1 tonne
  • Familiar with the aspects of Structural Deliverables, GA’s, Details etc
  • Review and comment on vendor information as requested by engineer
  • Working knowledge and experience of design software such as PDMS, Navisworks and Autocad
  • Obtain a defined scope of work from the Lead Designer
 

  • Educated to HNC/HND level in engineering discipline
  • Appreciation of relevant industry codes and standards
  • Conversant with appropriate technical software including Microsoft Office, PDMS (Design, Draft, Review), AutoCAD
  • Current Offshore Survival and Medical Certificate preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
