As such we are now seeking Project Engineers and Site Engineers with extensive roads and bridges experience for a leading Civil Contractor

The Contractor has recently been awarded a design and construct TMR project in Cairns worth over $150m.

As such are now seeking Site Engineers and Project Engineers with roads and / or bridge experience, local to the Cairns region.

In this role you will:

  • Be based in Cairns for the duration of the project (2 years)
  • Demonstrate a positive safety ethos and promote an ownership of safety culture
  • Plan, program and implement construction works in a timely and competent manner
  • Assist the Construction Manager with procurement of project resources
  • Field liaison with Supervisors and work crews
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers in a manner that builds relationships
  • Assist with commercial management of the project
  • Drive the implementation of HSEQ systems
  • Deliver on the clients requirements in a manner that enhances our reputation
Ideally we anticipate you have the following attributes and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Structural or Civil) or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working on civil construction (roads and bridges) projects between $2M and $150M, preferably within the TMR industry
  • Be practical and hands on in your approach
  • Take ownership of your portfolio of work
  • Show commitment to HSEQ management
  • Liaise and report to senior site managers
  • Develop the respect of your clients, colleagues and the site team
  • Good knowledge of TMR and/or MRWA standards and processes
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Be available to commence in January 2019
