Job Description

NES Global Talent is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client, a large Oil and Gas Oil Field Services, is seeking a Mechanical Designer in Calgary, AB. 

Responsibilities 

  • Contribute to the provision of mechanical design services for new product development and special projects.
  • Work independently and within the team on the development of original designs or adaptations.
  • Develop and detail complex computer aided designs with emphasis on functionality, manufacturability and maintainability.
  • Assist in Prototype and product validation test definition, planning and implementation
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation (manuals, etc.)
  • Adherence to company design standards; company engineering change management, document control, and product development processes; regulatory and industry standards.
  • Participate in mechanical engineering design reviews as necessary
 

Qualifications

  • Minimum diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or related field preferred) or equivalent.
  • Intermediate designer with 5+ years drafting experience and 5+ years design experience.
  • Comprehensive and specialized knowledge of engineering and drafting standards including codes and regulations affecting design assignment.
  • Highly proficient in the use of SolidWorks and Microsoft Office
  • Previous large assembly mechanical design experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organizing, planning, and presentation skills
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks and CREO preferred
  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter, Autodesk Vault and Solidworks PDM preferred
  • Knowledge of inline Inspection tools preferred
  • 10+ years mechanical design experience preferred
