Job Description

NES Global Talent is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry. Our client, is currently seeking a DCS System Administrator located at Christina Lake. This position is camp-based working on a 8 days on/6 days off, 12 hours/day rotation. 


  • Responsible for ensuring the overall ICS health and reliability
  • Execute DCS preventative maintenance procedures
  • Execute DCS Disaster Recovery/Backup procedures
  • WO/OIP execution 
  • Attend daily/weekly meetings as defined by the Automation Meeting Architecture
  • Participate in legacy control system migration to current standards and guide lifecycle implementation
  • Control System asset model owner
  • Technical input on standards for new facilities and execution for new system migrations
  • Execute Cyber Security and Disaster Recovery policies
  • Collaborate extensively with Operations Technology Group to ensure systems are available and maintained
  • Manage and ensure the safe, secure and reliable operation of site hardware and software for the following: Rockwell, Honeywell, ABB xA & 800F, Triconex, HIMA and GE, OT related equipment
  • Maintain hardware/Software support including: Technical Support and Performance monitoring, Preventative Maintenance, MSRs and Innovation, development environment, data storage – SAN, nimble, domain controller support, wireless radio infrastructure, disaster recovery infrastructure, spare inventory asset management, system backups, system access, HW/SW upgrades
  • Virtual environment support design/implementation (VMware)
  • Architecture documentation
  • Third party interfaces/applications, including: DTS, PD Guard, FDM, AMS, GE Cogen, Siemens Leak Detection

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • APEGA Professional Engineer with 5 - 10 years of related experience or Technologist with 5 - 10 years of similar related experience
  • Experience with plant construction, commissioning and start-ups
  • Experience in an operating facility and managing a team of people
  • Demonstrated working and design knowledge of SAS (DCS, PLC, SCADA, SSS)
  • Demonstrated working and design knowledge of OT systems hardware and software
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with Operations and other Stakeholders
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Successful participation in a team environment
  • Clear understanding of preventative maintenance and system monitoring
  • Strong working knowledge of Disaster Recovery Programs, Recovery Planning and start-up support
