Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for a particular work area and associated systems
- Facilitate communication of various project executive-issues among electrical team that affect design operation safety and regulatory compliance of equipment and facilities
- Gain alignment with Project Team on project electrical engineering needs objectives and requirements
- Evaluate/comment on work performed by the contractor sub-contractors and long lead equipment vendors to insure that the work is being executed in accordance with project specifications client standards and regulatory requirements
- Attend/delegates attendees FATs Model reviews as required
- Participate in project HSE program
- Oversee electrical activities within assigned work areas including quality cost schedule and contract administration issues
- Oversee/enforce lock-out-tag-out procedure (LOTO)
- Coordinate/communicate various issues among project team that affect commissioning operation safety LOTO and regulatory compliance of equipment and facilities
- Ensure contract specification verification performed according to contract
- Identify/assess deviations to contract technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all electrical activities adhere to project specifications
- Respond to project review requirements and information requests in a timely manner
- Support project quality assurance and quality control requirements
- Ensure required documents are processed to client’s satisfaction
- Support other discipline commissioning targets and objectives
- Support development of commissioning and maintenance manuals and procedures
- Support/populate completions database
- Oversee activities such as solo motor runs polarity checks etc.
- Ensure project lessons learned are documented/recorded
- Manage all commissioning activities ensuring project deliverables are produced in a timely manner.
- Prepare commissioning progress reports for project management
- Attend meetings with project team and updates progress reports commissioning activity status.
- Assist/supports commissioning manager in the development of relevant electrical activities in regards to the following:
- Vendor supplied packages
- HV/MV/LV Systems and switching
- Power generation
- Power management/distribution systems
- UPS Systems
- Transformers/voltage regulation
- Variable speed drives (VSDs)
- System and equipment energization
- Load shedding systems
- Equipment/structure grounding requirements
- Cathodic protection
- Electrical zoning regulations
- Lock-out tag-out
- Utility equipment including water systems air/N2 systems power generation and turbine driven equipment
- Vendor supplied packages
- Ensure CPD actions are executed
- Minimum 15 years’ oil and gas commissioning offshore experience required
- Engineering degree or professional certification preferred
- Knowledge of appropriate regulatory restrictions
- Proficient usage of advanced system completion database computer software
- Strong interpersonal skills ability to communicate well with others
- Management of work systems and best practice procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel offshore and internationally
