As such we are now seeking a Workshop Coordinator to join our client’s team within their operations in the Bowen Basin

The role will be working a 5/2 roster with a house provided to the successful application, otherwise accommodation will be provided for DIDO

In this role you will:

  • Report to the workshop manager
  • Supervise a team of diesel fitters in their daily duties
  • Implement and maintain maintenance schedules and work orders
  • Demonstrate a positive safety ethic and promote an ownership of safety culture
  • Mentor the workshop crew
  • Assist in parts purchasing, pickup and logistics
  • Control maintenance costs
  • Deliver weekly toolbox and safety talks
  • Liaise with operations department on issues and equipment requirements
  • Perform regular plant inspections to monitor condition and plan remedial work
  • Identify training requirements within crew and facilitate employee development
  • Quality Assurance and documentation for plant pre-delivery and off-hire
About you:

  • Mechanical Trade qualification preferably diesel mechanics
  • Supervisor certifications (S1,S2,S3)
  • At least 5 years minimum maintenance experience in coal mining
  • Experience with Caterpillar and Komatsu Mobile Equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of mine specification requirements and OHS standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and met deadlines
  • Strong computer skills
  • Valid QLD drivers license
  • Be able to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen
  • Have or be willing to obtain coal board medical and standard 11 induction
