Database Application Developer Essential’s:- 3 years’ Programming Languages. Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. Programming Languages. Oracle Apex, Java and C++. Operating Systems - competent in linux based operating systems. Able to write shell scripts. Relational databases – significant application developer experience. Use of Code Management System - 6 months + experience. Currently Bitbucket (Git. Experienced in the use of Jira. Reporting systems. Experience managing and progressing a software change from change request (fault or paid change) through to live deployment. Experience in developing software and in progressing that software through the phases of functional test, and Beta. Working knowledge of the software release process. Specifically, experience in the release of software to site, the support of user acceptance testing (UAT) and the controlled release into a live environment.
Database Application Developer main purpose of the role:-
To design, develop and test tables, views, dashboards and reports for reporting server. Oracle database with an Apex 18 front end. Also to develop the data transfer mechanism using Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, packages and triggers, and a Java server process.
Database Application Developer Accountabilities:-
Understand the current application and the data schema.
Develop application deliverables within the time specified, or provide early feedback where this is not possible.
Use experience gained on previous projects and in previous companies to challenge design where there is a more appropriate solution. Use the agreed change control mechanism to do so
Use the issue logging system (currently Jira) to report faults.
Use the company development tools and computer systems provided for your role
Provide support to the client/commissioning team during early life Assist with software build deliveries to test and site environments
Database Application Developer will:-
Not normally be responsible for any other people or resources.
Be assessed on software completion dates – targeted vs. actual.
Be assessed on software quality – number of faults found during functional, beta and acceptance testing.
Be assessed on their contribution to project success – attitude, contribution of ideas to improve project, commitment to team meetings.
Be assessed on their contribution to the overall team performance e.g. attitude to work, contribution to team meetings, improvement suggestions, effective use of free time
Willing to stay away from home, work in different locations and on client sites when necessary (approx 10% of time)
Driving Licence – Full, clean
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
