Job Description

The Medical Advisor (MA) provides medical and scientific expertise for specific projects with a therapeutic area (TA) and aligned to specific medicines. 

Responsibilities:

The MA acts with an uncompromising commitment to patients and supports the flawless execution of TA country medical projects, and is committed to:

  • Provide fair and balanced medical information and education to health care professionals supporting the safe and effective use of Client’s’ medicines in appropriate patients
  • Build trust through open and transparent collaboration with health care professionals
  • Demonstrate consistent ethical and professional behaviour,
  • Know the local health care system and keep updated on changes in environment in the country, including rules and regulations
  • Build reputation and visibility of Client’s at the country level by building relationships with external stakeholders through the provision of high quality medical information and education and collaboration on medical activities
  • Actively participate in the International Medical Affairs Team (may require international travel)
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures to meet statutory and company requirements, as well as any relevant codes of practice.
Provide support in the assigned TA(s) to the country team:

  • Support execution of the Country Medical plan(s) via completion of assigned tasks (including but not limited to advisory board execution, liaison for local publications, scientific congress related activities, medical education activities, local data generation)
  • Contribute to the local cross-functional team and support the marketing team for the development of promotional tools and initiatives ensuring medical and scientific accuracy and compliance with Client’s policies and local regulatory requirements
  •  Support Regional Site Advocate in the implementation of clinical trial activities
  • Provide scientific training to the Marketing and Commercial team
Interact with the medical community within assigned territory to:

• Serve as an educational resource to healthcare providers on disease state concepts, including providing effective presentations to groups, and participating in 1:1 discussions, tailoring discussions to meet specific needs
• Respond to unsolicited requests for information on clinical data and act as primary resources on Client’s products
• Serve as a liaison between key corporate functional areas and healthcare providers who express interest in conducting investigator-initiated research, to facilitate review and consideration of research proposals

Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD or Medical Degree preferred
  • Previous pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good scientific acumen and problem solving abilities
  • Good clinical and medical knowledge to apply to therapeutic area
  • Skilled in working in cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of study designs, statistical methods and interpretation of scientific data
  • Very good English language level
