Job DescriptionWell Operations Superintendent - Decommissioning
Opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the company onshore Decommissioning Team as a Well Operations Superintendent.
Reporting to the Lead Well P&A Engineer, this position is the focal point for platform P&A activity undertaken by the company in the Southern North Sea, with responsibility for coordinating P&A operations in accordance with the company's standards and coordinating third party contractors to ensure that all platform wells decommissioning activities are delivered in a safe and efficient manner.
This is a contract position for 8 months, primarily based in the Norwich office with occasional visits to offshore locations as required.
Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for coordinating the offshore well P&A operations in a safe and efficient manner.
Act as a focal point for offshore P&A operations within the Decommissioning Department
Interface with onshore Well P&A engineers to ensure compliance with approved programme
Interface with the offshore Well Site Engineer (WSE) to optimize the offshore activities
Manage third party contractors and suppliers to ensure project objectives are achieved
Ensure that activities are conducted in a safe manner and in compliance with company policy, procedures and statutory requirements
Ensure all well activities are undertaken in compliance with company Well Operations Manual and the company well procedures
Identify any changes to the work programme that are required and manage the change with the WSE in accordance with the company Management of Change procedure
Compliance with all health, safety and environmental legislation, policies and commitments related to the operations
Monitor daily progress and ensure the project schedule is maintained
Contribute to investigations of incidents when required
Contribute to project close out and lessons learned
Support Decommissioning activities or other well operations when required
Safety Critical Tasks
There are a number of Safety Critical Tasks that you will be made aware of and systems you will be required to competently operate
Skills & Experience
Significant experience in management of offshore well services operations
Previous experience of well abandonment operations is advantageous but not essential
Proven capability to manage third party well service companies and contractors
Strong, demonstrable leadership skills and ability to work under pressure
Committed to safety improvement and protection of the environment
Have a can do attitude, able to embrace a new approach to work activities and encourages others to embrace change
IWCF Level 4 well control certificate
