Job Description



Provides strategic sourcing expertise related to Capital, Turnarounds, Maintenance and Operation Material and Services for the client America plant locations in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and the Texas Gulf Coast. Supports the Capital, Maintenance & Reliability teams in market evaluation and development of strategic sourcing strategies for services and material categories related to capital, turnarounds, maintenance, and reliability initiatives.  Supports plant operations teams in market evaluation and development of strategic sourcing strategies for service categories related to on-going support services and turnaround activity.    Executes Supplier identification and qualification, executes competitive bidding processes in accordance with The client policies and procedures, performs bid analysis, engages in rigorous negotiations, formulates recommendations for Supplier selection based on Total Cost of Ownership models, and develops contract implementation plans. Manages contractor/supplier relationships and develops measures to evaluate performance.  Evaluates regional and strategic market segments to determine the best approach to provide improved support services to The client America business units and develops analysis presentations for business unit evaluation. Maintains regular interaction with business unit managers to support existing infrastructure programs and development of improved sourcing strategies.

 

Requirements:

 

Bachelor’s degree with >10 years experience in Procurement.

Ability to work in a team environment to achieve business initiatives, but also be a self motivated individual who can work independently to manage projects.

Ability to construct baseline spend analysis and create Total Cost of Ownership models

Business acumen, customer focus, ability to prioritize in an ambiguous environment

Strong verbal and written communication, active listening, and presentation skills

Ability to foster collaborative relationships with suppliers, co-workers, and internal customers

Ability to analyze business and technical requirements, and propose solutions that increase The client’s economic value

Ability to negotiate effectively

Good writing and communication skills        

Working knowledge of commercial terms and legal terms and conditions.

SAP experience is preferred.

 

 

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred

Knowledge of SAP systems preferred

Experience in the capital or maintenance services field preferred

Experience in the petrochemical or plastics industry preferred

Experience writing and negotiating commercial contracts preferred

Able to work without direct supervision
