PLANNING ENGINEER - COMMISSIONING

The incumbent will work closely with the IGCC Commissioning Director and will be a primarily concerned with development and maintenance of commissioning schedules.
The position initially will be focused on helping establish commissioning schedules for each of the production units and  insuring that the proper resourcing strategy is in place to execute the project.
The Asset Transition project encompasses all phases of delivering the IGCC to the Operations team as a safe and stable operating facility, including but not limited to the following: close-out of the Client's ASU EPC contractual commitments; execution of required transition projects scoped and approved during the Due Diligence phase of the project; and integrated and phased commissioning and start-up of the overall IGCC facilities.

ROLE ATTRIBUTES

Strong capability in project commissioning planning and planning tools
Advanced knowledge of Primavera 6.0
Familiarity with managing the transition from construction to commissioning/start up
Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification
Min 5 years as a commissioning planning engineer
Strong communicator written and oral
Organized, and able to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities and parallel tasks
Culturally astute with experience and ability to understand & adapt leadership and management styles to different cultures associated with multi-region project execution and a multi-cultural team.
Saudi Arabia or Middle East Experience

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Accountable for the preparation and maintenance of the overall commissioning and start up schedule

 
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the level 3 & 4 commissioning schedules with resource loading using P6 software.
Evaluating the schedules produced by relevant contractors to ensure that their schedules are robust, clearly identify the critical paths, contain the full contract scope of work and fit within the specified timeframes
Preparation and updating of the Integrated Project Schedule to indicate the progress achieved, identify the critical path and highlight any deviations from the plan and forecast delays to the Commissioning Manager.
Ensure that contractor plans are transferred and integrated into the schedule.
Preparation of various Reports, Histograms etc, as required, indicating progress achieved and highlighting any deviations from the plan and proposed corrective actions.
Participate in Schedule Risk Analysis exercises for the Commissioning team.
Prepare various ad hoc reports and schedules as requested by the team.
Produce progress tracking sheets for activities required for pre-commissioning and commissioning.
