Job Description

Primary Objectives
  1. To maximise benefit of project insurance through effective negotiation from insurance market via insurance broker. 
  2. Maximisation of benefits and placing adequate insurance for projects, including corporate program.
Technical Expertise
  • Represent and safeguard company and project’s position and interests in project insurance.
  • Insurance market negotiation via insurance broker to minimise risk of company and project. Complying to all necessary regulation, rules, and agreements of company, JVP, Lenders, and any necessary parties.
  • Enhancement of relationship with insurers and brokers.  Industry-wide advice on commercial matters as requested by the company and its departments to ensure business and commercial decisions are made on sound commercial terms and to avoid or mitigate exposure to risks and liabilities.
  • Assist in researching and compiling insurance market/project insurance information as requested.
  • Assist in identifying project risks, mitigating project risks as they arise including the purchase or acquisition of new businesses or further development of projects.
  • Assist in contract review of insurance clauses if and when required
  • Act as an advocate for the company at meetings and conferences.
  • Participate in project workshops and meetings as required.
Advice and Leadership
  • Work closely with company's legal, finance, tax, HQ insurance team and technical teams to ensure robust insurance programs for the project/company.
  • Liaise with relevant departments of company's global head office.
  • Lead and coordinate commercial processes including negotiations and internal reviews.
  • Degree qualified in a Technical, Commerce, Legal or other relevant discipline.
Skills and Experience Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role within the Insurance industry.
  • Previous Oil & Gas experience is desirable however is not essential.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Extensive understanding of insurance industry is essential preferably gained from working within an insurance company or as an insurance broker.
  • Highly accomplished presentation skills.
  • High computer literacy and self-sufficient practitioner.
  • High attention to detail with a service ethos for internal clients.
  • Respect and understanding of other cultures.
  • Commitment to team work.
