Job Description

NES Global Talent are seeking a Senior Structural Designer for a contract position within the UK

Applicants MUST be an EU Passport holder & have the right to work within the UK

Location: Aberdeen

Layouts, structural details, BOM’s experienced
AutoCAD 2D experienced
Offshore survey experience and valid certificates (medical, survival, MIST) 

3D modelling experienced (using LFM Server and AutoCAD 3D)
Drilling package and equipment knowledge


The production of CAD design deliverables in accordance with applicable legislation and standards.
To conduct offshore surveys and production of offshore survey reports as required.
To check the work of other designers.
To produce drawings from site sketches to enable manufacture and installation.
To produce Bill Of Materials (BOMs).
To produce Purchase Requisitions.
To provide technical interface with fabricators and subcontractors.
To provide technical input to close-out process (as-builts).
To provide technical input during design phase, with an emphasis on constructability of the design.
Assist with development of CTRs.
Assist Lead Structural Engineer with IDC reviews, and flag up any concerns.
To provide technical, ethical, professional leadership, support and mentoring to colleagues.
To respect colleagues, clients and subcontractors at all levels, dealing with any dispute or conflict in a professional and personable manner.
Any other reasonable duties as specified by Line Manager.
Limits of authority

Full responsibility for all operational activities within the philosophies and constraints laid out in the job description.

Drilling Contractor Experience:   1 yr preferred but not essential

Oil & Gas Sector Experience:       10 yrs

Offshore Certificates:    UK & Norwegian medical and survival preferred

HND/HNC preferred or relevant industry qualification together with suitable experience and career progression
