Job Description

Our client, a large oil and gas company, is currently seeking a Logistics Advisor for a 1 year contract in Calgary, AB.

 

CANDIDATE VALUE PROPOSITION:

 

They are seeking a Logistics Advisor for their Sulphur portfolio responsible for the coordination of Sulphur logistics via rail through North America. This individual will be reporting to the Manager, Heavy Oil Logistics.

 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide customer service to counter parties, customers, and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate empty rail cars into the Lloydminster Upgrader and manage rail shipments of Sulphur to customers and terminals throughout North America
  • Tracking of the Sulphur railcar fleet to fulfill shipments and maximize asset utilization
  • Proactively seek out ways to minimize logistics costs, improve service delivery and reduce cycle times
  • Work closely with marketing to support marketing contracts and deliver on budget
  • Monitor, track and balance Sulphur volumes shipped
  • Generate and verify customer invoices, as well as accounting and management reports
  • Manage and distribute daily, weekly and monthly logistics reports, KPIs and dashboards
  • Verify, reconcile and coordinate the payment of all Sulphur related rail invoices
  • Provide backup and support to other logistics roles in the team
 

The Ideal Candidate Would Have the Following Qualifications:

  • A University Degree- Supply Chain or B Comm preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience within, logistics, transportation, distribution and/or supply chain
  • 1-5 years of scheduling experience specific to rail transportation, scheduling and empty pipeline management
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification
  • Working knowledge of transportation terminology and procedures, specifically rail transportation
  • Proven track record of creating, monitoring and reporting on KPIs, dashboards and other financial and operational metrics
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Experience and knowledge of Geometrix Rail Logistics System
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Previous experience with accounting, verification of invoices
