PLANNING MANAGER
Work Location: Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia
Rotation: 6 weeks/ 2 weeks off
 
Responsibilities:
  • To provide planning expertise and effective project planning resources for full project life cycle from tender to handover to SLS
  • To ensure lean and proactive project planning throughout all phases of the project tender handover and start-up, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and handover to SLS
  • To ensure all project plans are schedule risk analysed, risks raised and mitigation plans put in place
  • Ensure project planning is executed according to global governance applying lean principles
  • Leadership of Project Planning Team, demonstrate strong leadership in Project Planning in Projects and Products organisation
  • Provide focus and drive to on time or earlier delivery within planning team
  • Undertake project planning activities, project plan reviews and support planning team
  • Ensure tendering and projects are supported for their planning needs through effective manpower planning and training and development of resources
  • Integration of Tendering, Project, Engineering, Procurement and Construction planning
  • Provide qualitative analysis of the progress and productivity data, provide technical support for scheduling, PV, Schedule Risk Analysis and Earned Value Analysis
  • Proactive planning, expediting of activities, schedule compliance, schedule risk identification and mitigation
  • Enable a continuous improvement mind-set and approach within Team to drive improvement towards world class planning performance
  • Continuously improve the process and tools to enable lean project controls in projects and products management
  • Be the regional representative for Project Planning
  • Develop the competencies of project planning through a continuous training program based on training needs established through the Competency Development Tool
 
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering/BA Business or equivalent
  • Institute membership preferred
  • Hands on experience and expert knowledge of Primavera (P6), SAP MRP and other
  • 5 or more years of post-collegiate work experience, including Project Planning, and/or project controls
  • Track record of effective project planning
  • Demonstrated leadership of a small team
  • Demonstrated experience of cross functional integration, Tendering, Projects EP&C
  • Experience in delivery of high service quality to customers
  • Motivated to work, align and collaborate across the business
  • Strong analytical and planning skills - able to gather data, draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations
  • Excellent communication, training, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
