Job Title: Security Advisor Work
Location: Nanticoke, Ontario
Start/End Dates: 1/15/2020 - 1/15/2021

NES Global Talent is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the Oil & Gas Industry. Our client is currently seeking an experienced Security Advisor for a 12-month contract in Nanticoke, Ontario. This role will provide security support to the client’s facilities and projects or support to key Global Security processes (e.g. intel, personnel, and executive protection, technical security, business support). The global Security Advisor should have core expertise in security operations, intelligence, personnel and executive protection, technical security and/or business support while interfacing and building relationships within Global Security and with other internal customers (e.g., business lines, Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) ) and internal partners (e.g., P&GA (Public & Government Affairs), Information Technology (EMIT) Procurements, Law, Medical and Occupational Health (MOH) to meet business needs.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Provide daily compliance oversight to the site security contractor
  • Endorse, review and update Security Post Orders and procedures as required
  • Complete and steward security planned activities monthly to the SSHE Supervisor
  • Endorse / Lead security investigations for the site
  • Conduct security reviews and test competency
  • Coordinate site; controlled key, security equipment and site access program(s)
  • Oversee site security controls and manage compliance for the site
  • Coordinate and communicate with Corporate Security on site issues, investigations and improvements
  • Propose improvements and efficiency within the Security department
  • Provide assistance to corporate departments in other types of investigations (audit, HR)
  • Participate in Executive Protection - Develop security procedures and implementation plans for technical security projects
  • Develop and lead security specific training
  • Support the company’s Emergency response team
  • Create and drive proactive solutions with ethics, diversity and reputation of the company in mind
Must Have Qualifications:
  • College level education or equivalent
  • 20+ years" of relevant years of experience in Security
  • Work in a complex organization
  • Communicate and present to a wide range of audiences
  • Exercise critical thinking
  • Influence and lead others in the absence of having a direct line of authority
  • Strictly maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information
  • Proficiently use Microsoft Office and other collaboration tools
  • Police foundations and law enforcement background preferred
  • Oil and Gas experience a benefit
  • Supervision and leadership roles preferred
  • Self-motivating and able to work individually requested
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience communicating with senior leadership and outside agencies requested
  • Experience and ability to manage emergency situations
