Job Description

NES Global Talent is a leading global technical recruitment company providing professional contract and permanent staff to a diverse world-wide client base within the oil & gas Industry.

Our Newfoundland office is seeking a Development Geologist to join the Atlantic Canada Subsurface Team.

This is a contract position for 12-24 months and located in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Job scope:
Reservoir development and characterization, sedimentology and stratigraphy, structural geology, detailed seismic interpretation, well log/core analysis and development well planning.
Delivery of technical work products to support internal subsurface peer reviews and assurance processes.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years working experience
Petrel interpretation and modeling experience
Canadian permanent residency or citizenship

Critical Selection Criteria
Technical Experience
Demonstrated knowledge & application of all aspects of development geology including, 3D seismic interpretation, geological modeling, well planning, rock & fluid property analysis, petrophysics, uncertainty management and asset development planning. Petrel experience is required.
 

Business Acumen
Experience working with Decision Analysts to perform economic evaluations of multiple field development alternatives. Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles & processes.

Communication
Strong communication skills, including organizational and analytical skills. Ability to convey technical concepts at all organizational levels internally, with co-venturers and other external stakeholders.

Teamwork
Demonstrated ability to work productively in a cross-functional team environment, both supporting other team members and contributing to the effectiveness of the team.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with co-venturers.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Geology is required
