Job Description

An oil and gas major client currently require a Category Specialist – Operations to join a major capital project for 12 months initially to be based in Sunbury, UK.

The Category Specialist – Operations will include execution of Production service and product lines, which include, chemical contracts for both oil and water, power generation, power supply and services contracts, and ESP/VSD equipment maintenance contracts; Supports ‘end-to-end’ sourcing; Working closely with the technical team who are based in Basra, Iraq; Will be required to complete analysis and review and make initial recommendations in the areas of Variation Requests and Claims; Continuous improvement in the space of local supply base development, Supplier quality and performance  management; Compliance with the Procurement Operating Standard and local government and partner governance requirements; Work closely with all stakeholders to control and monitor expenditure, and add value through the adoption of a strategic Category Management approaches; Utilises best practice Category Management processes and procedures to ensure business requirements are fulfilled and value is optimized across the Region; and other ad hoc duties.

You will have a University degree or equivalent within Business, Supply Management or Law. You will also have a strong understanding and experience of Operations based Contracts; Track record of successful Procurement & Contracting delivery in complex, challenging international environments Joint Ventures working with NOC’s; Analytical abilities including marketplace and financial analysis, including the ability to interpret data sets; Experience of Claims and the associated Contractual implications and management; Strong Ms Word, Excel skills; and Strong ARIBA, MAXIMO and ISNetworld skills.

Due to the location of this assignment, only applicants eligible to work in UK will be considered.
