Job Description

NES Global Talent are currently on the lookout for an experienced Commodity Buyer for a 6 month contract in Leicester. This role will be responsible for driving the strategy for assigned commodities and projects for the site to meet deflation, cash, fulfilment, quality and inventory objectives, so ideally we're looking for someone with a strong Purchasing background & who can also meet the below criteria.

Essential Responsibilities: 
  • Lead sourcing plan for assigned commodities/suppliers for direct materials and projects to support Quality, fulfillment and cost including supplier rationalization
  • Ensure supplier performance stability to meet delivery, quality and inventory expectations, via lead time reductions, capacity improvements, etc.
  • Issue RFQ’s to suppliers, analyse quotations & recommendations for contract award
  • Provide support with data gathering, processing standard reports, Qtr business review data and supplier scorecards
  • Provide support to keep supplier data maintained and accurate within operating systems
  • Support NPI (new product introduction) supplier strategy for assigned commodities
  • Meet cost out deflation targets via supplier negotiations, alternate supplier development and/or shifting to Low Cost Region suppliers; develop strategic relationships with global suppliers
  • Degree/HNC in Engineering or Business discipline
  • Strong negotiation and contract/project management skills, with excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills  
  • Strong process mindset
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Shift pattern:
  • Mon - Fri (with early finish on a Friday)
