Job Title:  Civil Engineer – Hydrology / Water / Renewables

Location: Dublin

Salary: €60,000 - €70,000 + Benefits


The Client Our client is a leading global engineering consultancy specialising in the utility sector. They  focus on the delivery of large scale, capital infrastructure projects and are looking to add an experienced Civil Engineer to their team.

The Role
  • Renewable Project Development, Solar PV, Wind, Offshore Wind, Ocean Energy.
  • Project Management of a range of contracts and contractors.
  • Marine Energy Project Feasibility Studies. 
  • Water management assessments of our Hydro Scheme catchments.
  • Procuring and managing sub-contractor inputs for site investigation, assessment, feasibility studies, design and consenting purposes.
  • Assessment of the performance of assets in use. 
  • Close liaison with other design engineers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
  • Project Development and Consenting activities for Renewables Projects, Solar PV, Ocean Energy, Wind and Offshore Wind.
  • Management of Contractors, including procurement and tendering of work scopes.
  • Undertake Marine Energy Project Feasibility Studies.
  • Procuring and managing sub-contractor inputs for site investigation, assessment, feasibility studies, design and consenting purposes.
  • Flood Risk Assessment and hydrological studies (e.g. Section 50 Applications).
  • Water management assessments of Hydro Schemes.
  • Project management of a range of contracts and/or projects.
  • Work within an engineering team in proactive way to deliver high quality projects to Client satisfaction.  
  • Ensuring all planning permission and licensing conditions are complied with.
  • Ensuring all statutory authorities, relevant authorities and stakeholders are appropriately informed.  
  • Effective co-ordination and management of multiple contractors on various projects. 
  • Coordination with other disciplines such as Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Architects, and Quantity Surveyors as required. 
  • Close Client liaison and excellent reporting skills (written & oral) required.


  • Recognised Degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering. 
  • Minimum 5 Years Relevant Renewables, Water and/or Hydrology and Project Management experience.
  • Chartered Status in a recognised professional engineering institute.
  • Knowledge of Applicable Codes and Standards and Health and Safety Legislation. 
  • Excellent Communication Skills. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to make quality decisions and judgments. 
  • Show a high level of commitment and flexibility.
