National Commercial Manager (Home based) – Building Materials– (£50,000 - £56,000) plus 15% bonus - Company Vehicle – Pension - Healthcare – Laptop – Phone (Midlands, Grantham, Peterborough, Nottingham, Milton Keynes)

A long established innovative and globally known Manufacturing business is looking to increase its existing customer base by employing a National Commercial Manager. The sole purpose is due to natural and stable growth; identifying there are opportunities to maximise existing client portfolios and areas to develop/expand their product in the current market. As this continues to grow you will have the responsibility to grow and develop your own team.

The right person for this role will be a commercially savvy individual with strong building materials experience, preferably concrete. Construction or site experience (estimating, QS, maintenance or engineering) would be advantageous as this is not any particular commercial role. You will be project managing processes from queries/quotations right the way through to product installation. You will also have access to a large resource/support team consisting of sales, Administration, Q/S & Estimators until you develop your own team.

Responsibilities for the Commercial Manager
  • Developing comprehensive understandings of key markets and industry best practice, collating and interpreting financial and operating data, involving key decision making around manufacturing, logistics and supply chain
  • Accountability for the delivery of the agreed profit and loss targets for the business
  • Generating and managing sales pipelines in order to maximise business opportunities by creating customer targets and action plans based on identified markets and applications
  • Ensuring commercial risk is at the centre of decision making
  • Take a strategic lead to monitor and improve growth turnover and volumes and secure long term workbank and significant business expansion
  • Understanding the value of vertical integration and delivering opportunities for all area of the business
Essential experience for the Commercial Manager
  • To be able to demonstrate previous successes and achievements
  • Building Materials experience (Concrete, Cement, Steel or Glass)
  • Strong commercial and negotiating skills
  • Experience in a civils background would be advantageous (site experience)
