Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager to protect and enhance the commercial position of the operation.
  • Ensuing all required notifications and claims are made to maximise the recovery of entitlements under the Head Contract.
  • Ensuring the timely notification and follow up of change events on the project, in strict adherence to the notice requirements of the contract so as to ensure that the commercial position is protected at all times.
  • Ensuring that all subcontracts, supply and services contracts are procured, executed, delivered and closed out, in accordance with Company commercial policies and guidelines.
  • Reporting any instances of commercial non-conformance's to the Project or Regional Commercial Manager as appropriate in the first instance.
  • Managing the commercial aspects of contract negotiations and disputes with the Project Manager and Subcontractors as applicable.
  • Ensure that head contract and subcontract obligations are communicated and understood by the site team.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will: 
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce or have over 5 years’ experience in related procurement or contracts roles in a mining or industrial work environment.
  • Be proficient in MS Office suite, ideally have experience with SAP/Fiori/Portt or related software or management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attainment of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply qualifications would be highly regarded.
