NES Fircroft are currently partnered with a major Energy Operator who are looking to add a Control & Systems Engineer to their team in Paris, France.

The role will be a contract based position for an initial 9 months contract with excellent potential to go well beyond. It will be supporting a major FPSO project which is situated offshore in Africa.

The position requires a candidate to be based in Paris Monday – Friday full time. In return a strong day rate will be on offer.

Activities

General:
1. Report to the Lagos SPS Lead on all engineering matters with focus on technical compliance, schedule and cost
2. Manage for discipline related matters the SOR changes and derogations to General Specifications FEED
3. Review contractors MDR and ensure sufficient deliverables are produced by FEED Alliance contractor
4. Actively attend and participate in workshops, design reviews, HAZOPs, HAZIDs during the FEED
5. Ensure timely review and approval of all discipline specific engineering / design documentation produced by FEED Alliance contractor
6. Assist the Lagos SPS Lead in technical aspects and prepare Tender Bulletins / answers to Technical clarifications
7. Assess technological risks in contractors’ proposals and define technical qualification requirements to be performed prior to or during the EPCI phase
8. Prepare deviation register to CPY requirements / GS and liaise with HQ teams to obtain assessment / preliminary approval of deviation
9. Ensure mitigation actions identified during technical gap analysis are implemented by contractor during FEED
10. Coordinate with other disciplines and Company specialists to ensure technical compliance and quality of deliverables
11. Monitor contractor’s performance and highlight any schedule delay
12. Liaise with HSE, quality, Field Ops, SURF, topside, installation, pre-commissioning, drilling teams as required

Call For Tender & EPCI Preparation
13. Ensure, in collaboration with the Lagos SPS Lead /Contract team, that the EPCI Contract Exhibits include all necessary discipline related requirements
14. Assist in preparation of Invitation to Tender
15. Prepare Tender Bulletins / Technical Clarifications answers during CFT
16. Ensure timely review of all technical deliverables submitted by Tenderers
17. Advise Lagos SPS Lead of all non-compliance, risks, inconsistencies in the contractors’ submission
18. Answer / close all contractors’ technical qualifications
19. Assist the preparation of the EPCI project execution plan
20. Actively contribute to the resolution of interfaces

Qualification & Experience
• Qualification: BSc. Degree holder or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering/technical discipline
• Languages: English (fluent verbal & written)
• Professional Experience: minimum 15 years
• Experience within project: minimum 15 years
Strong knowledge of Company, Group and statutory policies and procedures in relation to engineering, technology and project management
Strong knowledge of Topside and Subsea control system design, construction, testing, commissioning and operation with offshore experience gain worldwide
Operator experience a plus

• Subsea design codes & standards
• Subsea Control Systems (including Subsea instrumentation and optical/electrical
distribution systems)
• Topside Controls Systems (including HPU, EPU and MCS/SCU)
• Work Over Control System
• Marine operations using Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV)
• Techniques for managing multiple third party interfaces to a project
